Harela is celebrated every year on the day of Kark Sakranti in the month of Shravan, so like every year this festival will be celebrated on 16 and 17 July. According to well-known pundits, this year Sun will enter Cancer sign on July 16 at 4:59 pm due to which this festival will be celebrated on July 16 in Uttarakhand.(Happy harela festival wishes 2023)

As it is known to all that the calendar of the state of Uttarakhand is slightly different from the urban states. The month of the state lags behind the months of the urban states, due to which there is a change in the days of festivals.
For this reason Harela festival is celebrated in Uttarakhand on 2 days 16 and 17. This time too, due to the change of days, this festival will be celebrated on 17th July in Kumaon region and on 16th July in some parts of Garhwal region. As per traditional customs, there is a tradition of sowing Harela in Harela festival which is sown in a vessel 10 and 11 days before.
